Sharapova to face Murray at Wimbledon

French Open champion Maria Sharapova will begin her quest for a second Wimbledon title against Lancashire-born wildcard Samantha Murray.

World No.1 and top seed, Serena Williams, was drawn in the same half as Sharapova and the pair could meet in a mouth-watering quarter-final. Williams opens against Anna Tatishvili.

Second seed Li Na and fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska are in the bottom half of the draw, along with sixth seed Petra Kvitova and eighth seed Victoria Azarenka.

With defending champion Marion Bartoli now retired, last year's runner-up Sabine Lisicki has the honour of opening on Centre Court on Tuesday. The German will face world No.82 Julia Glushko.

For the British interest, No.1 Heather Watson, who plays in the semi-finals of the Aegon International in Eastbourne on Friday, faces Croatian Ajla Tomljanovic, ranked 18 places above Watson.

Tara Moore, British No.6, faces 2010 Wimbledon finalist Vera Zvonareva, while No.3 Johanna Konte takes on the experienced Peng Shuai.

British No.4 Naomi Brady opens against Hungarian 21-year-old Timea Babos.
