Bryan brothers shocked in men's doubles final

American Jack Sock and Canadian Vasek Pospisil upset Bob and Mike Bryan in five sets to win the men's doubles final at Wimbledon.

Playing as a pairing in their first tournament after only signing up several days before the draw, Sock and Pospisil eventually won 7-6(5) 6-7(3) 6-4 3-6 7-5 in just over three hours.

The winners broke the top-seeded Bryan brothers' service in the final game on their fifth match point, with Sock smashing the winning forehand on a Mike Bryan second serve.

Pospisil said he and Sock had a simple formula for beating the all-time best doubles pair in grand slam history, who were seeking a 16th major crown and 99th title overall.

"Close your eyes; hope you play the best tennis of your life," he said, smiling.

Sock and Pospisil were playing on Centre Court for the first time.

"We had a lot of fun, people could see that," Sock said. "That's part of why we did well. We really enjoyed being out there. As kids we grew up watching this tournament. This is what we kind of dreamed of doing."

Sock and Pospisil are ranked 99 and 94 respectively in the world doubles rankings.
