Elbow injury forces Henin out of US Open

Justine Henin has been forced to withdraw from the US Open after tests revealed her elbow injury to be worse than originally feared.
The former world No. 1 fell heavily on her right elbow during her fourth-round defeat to rival Kim Clijsters, and tests showed damage that will keep the seven-time Grand Slam champion out of action for two months.
"I took several medical examinations that have revealed a partial ligament fracture of the elbow," Henin revealed on her website.
"This injury will keep me away from the courts for a rough period of two months, with the consequence that I have withdrawn from the US Open."
Henin is a two-time champion at Flushing Meadows, having won the title there in 2003 and 2007, but she will miss the chance to emulate the feat of Clijsters, who won the title last year in only her third tournament back.
The injury will come as a blow for the Belgian, who returned to the sport after nearly two years. After reaching the final of the Australian Open in January, she won her first title of the year in Stuttgart in April.
