Novak Djokovic is hoping his recent success at Wimbledon and getting married to his long-term partner Jelena Ristic will help him triumph on the hard courts in the North America swing.

Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in July to lift the seventh Grand Slam title of his career - coming through in five sets on Centre Court to win at Wimbledon for a second time. The Serb also reclaimed the world No.1 spot from Rafael Nadal.

Djokovic then tied the knot with Ristic and the couple are expecting their first child later in the year. The 27 year old will return to action this week at the Canadian Open as he looks to triumph at the event for a fourth time, before taking part in the Cincinnati Masters and then the final major of the year at the US Open at the end of August.

"It's been probably the best month I've had in my life with the Wimbledon title, a wedding and of course a baby coming up," Djokovic said.

"I'm going back to the business, back to my office, but of course filled with positive energy, with joy, all the beautiful emotions that a person can experience right now.

"Hopefully I can use that to perform well on the tennis court."
