Andy Murray has upped his bid to qualify for next month's ATP World Tour finals in London.

The British No.1 has taken wildcard entries in the Vienna and Valencia Opens in the next two weeks, before heading to Paris in a last-ditch attempt to make the season finale at the O2 Arena.

If Murray, who has been overtaken by David Ferrer in the Race to London after losing to the Spaniard in Shanghai, succeeds, it means he will have played seven tournaments in eight weeks by the season end.

Murray is currently 11th in the world rankings, with the top eight qualifying for the finals which take place from November 9 to 16.

Murray, 27, has not missed out on the finals since 2007.

World No.1 Novak Djokovic takes on Roger Federer in the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters on Saturday - the first time the pair have met since their five-set Wimbledon final earlier this summer.
