Bob and Mike Bryan secured their fourth World Tour Finals doubles crown with a 6-7(5) 6-2 10-7 win over Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo at the O2 Arena.

Dodig and Melo came into the final without a team title to their name this year, but saved four break points on their way to taking the opener on a tie-break in 48 minutes.

The Bryan brothers hit back in the second, though, then won the first four points in the Match tie-break before sealing victory.

It was their 10th title win of 2014 and their 103rd overall.

"Looking back at the year, we're very proud of the way it went," said Mike Bryan. "If we had to pick one highlight during this great season, it would probably have to be the US Open. It was just a milestone we were shooting for.

"One of our big goals coming in the year is to try to hit 100 titles. We did it luckily at our home grand slam when there was a lot of talk about it.

"We're happy we did it there. To finish year end No.1 was a huge goal, we did that for the 10th season. That ranks right up there.

"This is considered the fifth slam, with the top eight teams in the world. To lose our first match and bounce back, barely qualify for the semi-finals, win today, was a great feeling."

Shortly after their victory, Roger Federer announced on court that he had pulled out of his singles final against Novak Djokovic with a back injury.
