Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka were all smiles on Monday night as they joined together in the Swiss Davis Cup team to present a picture of unity before their final against France.

Despite reports in the Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph of the pair clashing in a 10-minute row at the World Tour Finals on Saturday, Federer posted a picture and message of togetherness which was then retweeted by Wawrinka.

Wawrinka's playful place in the picture posted by the players and Federer's caption suggests that any differences between the pair - which neither have spoken publicly about or confirmed - have been resolved:

They are in Lille getting ready to face France in the team event which begins on Friday and could see Federer win the only major tennis trophy that has so far eluded him.

The backdrop to the Davis Cup Final includes Federer having pulled out of the World Tour Finals finale against Novak Djokovic on Sunday with a back injury which, according to a separately posted tweet, he is hopeful of overcoming.

But there were also claims of disharmony, with Federer and Wawrinka reportedly clashing after their semi-final at the O2 Arena in London.

Federer emerged the winner after a 4-6 7-5 7-6 thriller but his victory was tainted by talk that his wife, Mirka, had heckled Wawrinka at a key point in the match and sparked a row.

Mirka reportedly questioned Wawrinka's ability to close out the match, with respected French newspaper l'Equipe claiming she shouted "cry, baby, cry" after he became visibly annoyed.

French television is then reported to have picked up a complaint from Wawrinka in which he said "she did the same thing at Wimbledon". The players are said to have held heated discussions after the match, with officials ushering them into a makeshift gym backstage.
