British young gun Laura Robson has progressed to the final of the Australian Open girls singles event for the second successive year after demolishing 17-year-old Czech Kristyna Pliskova 6-3 6-1.
Once again, the 16-year-old starlet's serve was a major weapon, as Robson conceded just two break points to Pliskova, one of which was converted. Despite being 22 months older, Pliskova could not match Robson and was broken five times on the way to the straight sets loss in just over an hour.
Robson will now face Pliskova's twin sister, Karolina, after she defeated Chinese unknown Hao Chen Tang 2-6 7-6 6-2 in the second semi-final.
Melbourne-born Robson created headlines back in 2008 when she claimed the Wimbledon girls title at just 14 years of age, and she next reached a junior Grand Slam decider here in the city of her birth last year, losing on that occasion in straight sets to Ksenia Pervak of Russia.
She has dabbled in the senior tour and had success partnering Andy Murray in the Hopman Cup early this month, as she prepares to make the full-time move up to the ladies circuit. For now, at nearly six-feet-tall, she has looked unstoppable amongst her peers in the past week and she is now just one match away from correcting her woes of 12 months ago.
