Gasquet overcomes Mathieu in Metz

Richard Gasquet battled back from a set down to beat Paul-Henri Mathieu at the Open de Moselle in Metz.
Gasquet was unable to make inroads into his fellow Frenchman's serves, but won two tense tie-breakers to move into the third round with a 4-6 7-6(5) 7-6(3) victory.
The third seed fired down 17 aces in an edgy second round encounter, in which both players won 108 points. But Gasquet ensured he won the important points in the two tie-breaks to progress after two hours and 37 minutes on court.
Gasquet will now face seventh seed Tommy Robredo who notched up a 6-4 6-2 win over Denis Istomin.
The 2007 champion converted all four of his break point opportunities to earn a quarter-final berth over a player ranked two places below him.
Sixth seed Phillip Kohlschreiber also secured his place in the last-eight with a 6-4 6-2 win over fellow German Michael Berrer.
Meanwhile, at the Bucharest Open in Romania, all three seeds in action progressed into the quarter-finals unscathed. Top seed Albert Montanes enjoyed a 6-4 6-4 win over Tobias Kamke to set up a clash with Jeremy Chardy, who beat Italian qualifier Simone Vagnozzi 6-2 6-4.
Juan Ignacio Chela and Bjorn Phau will do battle in the last-eight after respective victories over Simon Greul and home favourite Adrian Ungur.
