Russia's Alla Kudryavtseva claimed her first win on the WTA Tour at the Tashkent Open in Uzbekistan.

Just a week after reaching her first final at the Guangzhou International Open, Kudryavtseva beat Elena Vesnina 6-4 6-4.

The world No. 82 fired five aces on her way to victory in a little over 90 minutes, including a powerful ace to seal the victory.

After an exchange of breaks midway through the second set, Kudryavtseva snatched a crucial break in the seventh game before holding her nerve to close out the match and get her hands on the $37,000 winner's cheque.

Meanwhile at the Korea Open in Seoul, Nadia Petrova's run came to an end in disappointing fashion when she was forced to retire from her semi-final. The world No. 19, who has not dropped a set this week, trailed 5-4 in the opening set when she retired due to illness.

Petrova's retirement left an easy passage to the final for Klara Zakopalova, who will now meet fifth seed Alisa Kleybanova, who beat Agnes Szavay 6-3 6-2.
