Novak Djokovic wrapped up a 6-2 6-4 victory over David Ferrer in the final of the China Open on Monday after a rain delay made him wait overnight.

Only four games had been played when play was halted on Sunday, prompting Djokovic to entertain the crowd by joining the local staff in their efforts to towel down the court.

The world No.2 could have been forgiven for being more nervous given his 4-4 head-to-head record against Spain's Ferrer going into the decider, but his relaxed mood carried through to Monday where he completed the straight sets victory in around an hour.

Djokovic dropped just three points on his serve in the first set but Ferrer stepped things up in the second, breaking the Serb once. The resistance proved futile though as Djokovic claimed his 18th career title, his second for 2010.
