Ivan Dodig and Kevin Anderson both claimed their maiden ATP Tour victories in their native countries.

Dodig ensured the Zagreb Indoors trophy stayed in Croatian hands after he beat eighth seed Michael Berrer 6-3 6-4.

The world No. 84 had never reached a tour-level semi-final before his giantkilling run in Zagreb, but having seen off second seed Ivan Ljubicic and third seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in successive matches, he was a deserving winner of the title.

"This is the best thing that can happen to a player - to play at home in front of your own crowd and win your first title," Dodig said. "I'm really happy and enjoying the moment. It's been amazing all week; it's an unbelievable experience."

For Berrer, it was a second successive disappointment, having lost to Marin Cilic in the final last year.

Meanwhile, in his hometown of Johannesburg, Anderson battled from a set down to beat Somdev Devvarman 4-6 6-3 6-2 to claim the SA Tennis Open title.

The world No. 59 became the first South African to win a title since Wesley Moodie in October 2005.

There was no home champion in the Movistar Open in Chile, but Tommy Robredo denied Colombia's Santiago Giraldo victory in Santiago as the Spaniard claimed his first title in nearly two years with a 6-2 2-6 7-6(5) win.
