Serena reveals mental struggle

Serena Williams has admitted she has struggled to cope mentally after being hospitalised when blood clots were discovered on her lungs.
Williams, who has been out of action since July with a foot injury, admitted it was "the scariest moment of [her] life" when she was rushed into hospital after suffering a pulmonary embolism.
The 13-time grand slam champion was treated in a Los Angeles hospital last week and also had to have a large haematoma "the size of a grapefruit" removed from her stomach. And she admitted she was struggling to deal with the emotional side of her latest health scare.
"I wasn't doing so well mentally, I was just in my house, laying down, feeling terrible," Williams told the Today Show. "I had been through so much. I was very low on energy but I had to do something to kind of get my spirits up."
However, Williams was confident she would not suffer any long-term adverse affects and has targeted a return to action in the summer.
"Luckily enough, I was able to catch it soon enough that my career won't be affected," she said. "I love tennis and now more than anything I have so much to look forward to just playing. I really just want to come back and do well."
