Martina Navratilova believes Andy Murray needs to take more responsibility for poor performances if he is to finally break his grand slam duck.

The British No. 1 has lost all three of his previous grand slam final appearances, having failed to even win a set.

Navratilova, who won 18 grand slam singles titles and a further 41 doubles trophies, says Murray, 23, still has plenty of time, but admits the pressure will only continue to grow.

"I would have thought he would have won a slam by now, though he still has plenty of time on his side," Navratilova said.

"He's still in his prime, the next three to four years, but with every year it gets more difficult, the expectations and the pressure get higher."

Navratilova believes Murray is too quick to blame his team when things do not go his way and wants to see major changes in the Scot's attitude.

"He's got the talent but he's got to get tougher on himself mentally - he's too quick to pass the blame, looking at his box and yelling at them as if it's somehow their fault he missed that forehand," she said.

"Also, he doesn't give his opponent enough credit, he gets mad when he gets aced - that's a good serve, too good. He needs to change his attitude, to give his opponent more credit which takes the pressure off him."
