World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki motored into the fourth round of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami with a straight sets win over Daniela Hantuchova.

The Dane lived up to her top billing by beating Hantuchova 6-1 7-6 (7) after saving three set points in a tense second frame.

"Daniela's a great player. I knew it wasn't going to be easy after the first set and she was going to change her gameplan," Wozniacki said. "I just tried to make her run and not let her dictate too much."

Elsewhere, Jelena Jankovic successfully negotiated a potential stumbling block by defeating Klara Zakopalova. Jankovic entered the match with a 50% win rate against the Czech player, but she put that sketchy record aside to seal a routine 7-5 6-1 triumph.

Sixth seed Jankovic was finding breaks at will, sealing seven in all, as she set about reparing the damage inflicted by her own fragile delivery, which coughed up three games.

Elsewhere, Maria Sharapova's game showed ominous signs of revival as she hammered Sabine Lisicki 6-2 6-0 in 58 minutes of action, while fourth seed Sam Stosur overcame Lucie Safarova 6-0 7-6(1).

Eleventh seed Svetlana Kuznetsova suffered a shock exit, losing 6-3 6-1 to Shuai Peng as her dismal run continued - she arrived at the tournament after falling at the first hurdle of her last two events.
