Victoria Azarenka destroyed Kim Clijsters' serve to oust the world No. 2 in their Sony Ericsson Open quarter-final, setting up a semi with Vera Zvonareva, who defeated Agnieszka Radwanska.

The 2009 winner in Miami, Azarenka put in an efficient performance to upset another former winner in Clijsters 6-3 6-3, breaking her serve three times in each set and wasting just the one break point in each.

Clijsters struggled with her serve, getting only 54% of first serves in and winning just over half of those points when her first effort was successful.

Vera Zvonareva booked her place in the semi-finals by overcoming Agnieszka Radwanska 7-5 6-3.

Zvonareva was forced to dig deep in the first set, saving a set point before eventually prevailing, and won four consecutive games to take a decisive hold of the second.

The victory maintains Zvonareva's 100% record from four quarter-finals this year. Third seed Zvonareva, who has won one title already this season, has never progressed beyond the last four in Miami.
