Murray names Hutchins in April Fool's hoax

Andy Murray pulled an April Fool's joke on the media on Friday, announcing the appointment of Ross Hutchins as his new coach.

Murray wrote on his personal Twitter account: "Ross Hutchins will be my new coach alongside Dani [Vallverdu] starting in Barcelona. Can't wait to get started."

However, the British No. 1 quickly revealed the prank he had played, poking fun at his reputation as a control freak by saying: "Felt like I needed another yes man."

Murray has not had a full-time coach since parting company with Miles Maclagan midway through 2010. Alex Corretja was employed as a coaching consultant, but that partnership did not prove successful.

The world No. 5 has embarked on a woeful run of results since losing to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final, failing to win a match since that defeat. As a result, the Scot parted company with Corretja at the start of this week, sparking speculation over the identity of his next coach.

Ivan Lendl's name has been strongly linked to Murray, but the Briton's search goes on following Friday's hoax.
