Wozniacki and Stosur on collision course in Madrid

World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki fired a warning to her rivals as the top seed marched into the third round of the Madrid Open with a straight-sets victory on Tuesday.
The top seed, who has reached the final four times in her last five tournaments, recovered from an early wobble to ease to a 6-4 6-4 win over Bojana Jovanovski. Wozniacki found herself a break down to the aggressive groundstrokes of the Serb, but recovered to remain on track at the Caja Magica.
She now awaits the winner of the second-round clash between former world No. 1 Dinara Safina and Germany's Julia Goerges, who claimed a surprise victory over the world No. 1 in the final in Stuttgart last month.
Should Wozniacki successfully navigate her way into the quarter-finals, she could meet fifth seed Sam Stosur, who also made comfortable progress into the third round. French Open finalist Stosur needed three sets to beat Gisela Dulko in her opening match, but a late break in the second set helped her secure a 7-6(1) 7-5 win over Daniela Hantuchova.
French Open champion Francesca Schiavone overcame the loss of the second set to beat her fellow Italian Sara Errani 6-0 2-6 6-3.
Bethanie Mattek-Sands needed just 71 minutes to overpower her fellow American Vania King 6-0 6-2, while No. 16 seed Petra Kvitova also progressed unscathed.
The No. 11 seed Marion Bartoli fell at the first hurdle, with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova winning 7-5 6-1.
