Andy Murray will have to return to the court on Tuesday after his fourth round match against Viktor Troicki failed to reach a conclusion.

The world No. 4 battled back from two sets down to remain in with a chance of reaching the French Open quarter-finals after play was suspended with the score at 4-6 4-6 6-3 6-2.

Murray, who twisted his ankle in his third-round win over Michael Berrer, recovered in time to play, but appeared to struggle with his movement in the early stages.

The Scot was made to pay for a tentative start as Troicki raced to a 5-0 lead with Murray rooted to the spot as Troicki hit a series of winners.

Murray was able to put increasing pressure on his left foot, and the Scot battled his way back to 5-4. Although Troicki hung on to take the opening set, the was momentum firmly in Murray's favour as he moved into the second set.

However, he failed to make the most of his chances and he found himself a set away from defeat in Paris, and when Troicki took an early break in the third, it looked like there was no way back for the Scot.

Murray showed his battling qualities with his tremendous comeback against Richard Gasquet in the first round at last year's French Open, and he once more dug deep to force the match to a decider.

With the darkness closing in on Court Suzanne Lenglen, the match was suspended with the scores all square at two sets apiece.
