What They Said

British No. 1 Andy Murray continued his Wimbledon campaign with a routine victory over Tobias Kamke.

A two-time semi-finalist at the All England Club, Murray rarely moved out of second gear as he sealed a 6-3 6-3 7-5 win. It was a far from perfect performance from Murray, but after being pushed all the way by his German opponent, he sealed the win in straight sets to book his place in the third round.

After dropping the first set in his opening round win over Daniel Gimeno-Traver, Murray made no such mistake on Wednesday, snatching an early break after two double faults from Kamke, and a fierce forehand from Murray sealed a second break and with it the second set.

Murray faced break point at 3-3 in the second, but dug himself out of trouble with a big serve, and held serve before snatching the decisive break. Kamke continued to frustrate Murray in the third set as the Scot searched desperately for a breakthrough, but then a double fault by the German at 5-5 gave Murray his chance, and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands before serving out for a place in the last 32.

Murray will play Ivan Ljubicic in the third round on Friday.
