Murray grinds his way past Ljubicic

Andy Murray was in humorous mood at Wimbledon following Friday's third-round victory over Ivan Ljubicic, and he decided to use the post-match press conference as a chance to ridicule his mum for her infatuation with Feliciano Lopez.

Murray takes on Richard Gasquet in the fourth round on Monday, but he can meet Lopez later in the tournament if the Spaniard maintains the type of form that saw him beat Andy Roddick in three sets on Friday.

Murray's mum, Judy, is a well-known face in the tennis world, having helped the British No. 1 improve his game and handle his career.

However, her love of Lopez has become too much for Murray, who decided things had gone too far after yet more gushing praise of the left-hander this week. Judy tweeted, "Oooooooooh Deliciano........looking good out there, as always," so Murray decided it was time to act.

"I think it's about time she stopped with that nonsense. It makes me want to throw up. It's disgusting, it's disgusting," he quipped.

"I was practising with him before the tournament and my mum was on the side. It's quite funny because she'd been writing about it on Twitter all the time.

"When we were warming up, I shouted across the net, 'Feli, if we sit down for a drink, if you could take a picture with my mum, because she thinks you're beautiful.'

"She went bright red. 'I'm not doing it, I'm not doing it.' Refused to take the picture. Quite funny. Not like her. I hope she'll still be supporting me [if we play]."

Murray rated himself an "eight of ten" in Friday's press conference, but he based the rating purely on the tennis he had played during the course of the first week.
