South Africa will not dominate Australia's forwards at Newlands in Cape Town as easily as at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Adriaan Strauss says.

The Springboks won The Rugby Championship Test in Brisbane emphatically, 38-12, with the forwards producing a physically dominant performance in the set-pieces and in the loose to lay the platform for South Africa's first victory over the Wallabies at Suncorp Stadium. The Wallabies have since recalled Benn Robinson to the squad, after their forwards struggled again against Argentina in Perth, while James Horwill is also fit to resume after missing Australia's past two Tests with a hamstring injury.

"We are not building up to this match with the expectation that we are up against the same Australian team that we beat in Brisbane, and we know that this will be a very different game and a different challenge," Strauss told Supersport ahead of his likely selection to face the Wallabies as part of Heyneke Meyer's policy of rotating his Springboks squad.

"Horwill is not only an outstanding player, he is also an outstanding captain, and he will make a difference to the performance of the players around him. His return will definitely help them. We can take some confidence from the Brisbane game, but we also know that the defeat would have stung them."

The Springboks hold Robinson in high regard, remembering his destruction of John Smith when the South African played as a tight-head in 2009, and Strauss said the Australian forwards would be "supremely motivated for this game".

"They will be looking to up their game in the forwards particularly. We are expecting a lot of emotion to be put into their scrumming, and they have had time to work on a few things. But we are positive, too, and we have also been working hard on that aspect of our game and it has gone well for us this year."
