South Africa host New Zealand in Johannesburg this weekend with the Springboks looking to secure only their second win in seven matches against the All Blacks.

New Zealand beat their old rivals for the fifth time in the last six matches in Dunedin three weeks ago with a 21-11 victory.

The two sides have met on 84 previous occasions dating back to the All Blacks' 13-5 victory in their first Test clash in Dunedin in 1921.

New Zealand hold the all-time advantage with 47 victories following their win in Dunedin and the Springboks' only win in their last six encounters came with an 18-5 triumph on the eve of last year's Rugby World Cup that brought an end to four successive defeats.

However, perhaps their most famous clash came in the final of the 1995 Rugby World Cup where hosts South Africa claimed a 15-12 success at Ellis Park and with it the sport's biggest prize for the first time.

This weekend's game will be only the second encounter between South Africa and New Zealand at the National Stadium in Johannesburg with the All Blacks having won the only other previous encounter 29-22 in 2010.
