All Blacks coach Wayne Smith has confirmed he is keeping his options open for future coaching roles as reports emerge English club Harlequins have made the 58-year-old an offer.

Current Harlequins coach Conor O'Shea is set to leave the glamour club at the end of the season and both The Times and Sky Sports in the UK have reported the All Blacks coach has been approached to take over the role.

"No comment really," he told Radio Sport. "I'm considering several options regarding my coaching future, whilst also trying to have a short break from the game. I'm a wee way from making any decisions."

Smith helped deliver New Zealand their 2011 Rugby World Cup triumph as part of the All Blacks coaching team, and is widely regarded as one of the best brains in the game, making him one of the most sought after.

He has had a previous stint in Britain at the Northampton Saints, where he coached for three seasons after he was stood down from the All Blacks head coaching role in 2001.

Smith has also enjoyed Super Rugby success with the Crusaders, and most recently, teaming-up with Dave Rennie to lead the Chiefs to back-to-back titles.
