Australia's Richard Brown has revealed a stern warning from coach Robbie Deans that another ill-disciplined display from the side against New Zealand on Saturday will not be tolerated.

Brown, who was one of three Wallabies sin-binned during the recent loss to South Africa in Cape Town, has been appointed to a special task force in a desperate bid to solve the Australia's crippling discipline problem.

"They (the coaches) got a bunch of us to address the team to put a few pointers up for what we could do to solve that discipline area," Brown said on the eve of the Sydney showdown with their cross-Tasman rivals.

"We defend very well as a team but it's just at that defensive ruck area that we're giving away those penalties. So we've come up with a few ideas and we're going to have more of a focus to try and erase those penalties."

But the 24-year-old, who will switch to No.8 for the game, insists he will not temper his aggression at the breakdown as a result of his sin-binning against the Springboks.

"You always want to go out there and play 100 percent, it's not one day 90 percent and one day 100, it's full tilt every day," he said. "It (his sin-binning) was hard to swallow because it's the first one that I've received.

"Normally I try and keep away from that chair, but it's something that I'll give a quick thought to and I'll be more aware of depending on what part of the field we're in."

Lock James Horwill believes his side's ability to stay on the right side of the law could prove the difference between victory and defeat.

"We know with the discipline, especially with the good kickers that the All Blacks have, that we need to make sure that we're right on our game and don't give away any silly penalties," he said.

"We can't continue the way we have been with giving away penalties and letting teams off the hook, so we need to make sure that we assess it as a team and also on an individual basis to make sure players are taking responsibility for not giving away silly penalties."

Horwill said the Wallabies' ability to rectify their lineout woes after failing to secure nine of their own throws against the Springboks would also prove critical.

"We've worked very hard these last few days on the lineout to make sure that we pick up any areas we let ourselves down in (in Cape Town)," he said.

Meanwhile, the Queensland lock says the selection of Kieran Read ahead of regular number eight Rodney So'oialo will add a new dimension to the All Blacks pack.

"I think Kieran Read probably gives them a little bit more at the lineout and he gets through a mountain of work," he said. "He's definitely there to make sure he gets through a lot of work across the field and his work rate will be very high so we need to make sure we're wary of that."
