Head to head: Fiji see off Canada

Fiji holds an overall 5-2 record against Canada, since the two first played in a snowstorm at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, in 1970, in a 35-17 win for Fiji. Canada beat the South Sea Islanders 13-3 at the 1991 World Cup and twelve years ago in Nadi. Since then Canada has suffered four losses in a row to Fiji. In the 1999 Rugby World Cup Fiji defeated Canada 38-22 and it has lost three Pacific Rim encounters in 1999, 2000 and 2001. |
