Toulon supremo Mourad Boudjellal has described the Sharks' challenge to the Heineken Cup champions as "a little inappropriate" but has welcomed a match against the Super Rugby franchise.

Sharks CEO John Smit laid down the gauntlet to Toulon saying they should face each other in a match as winning the Heineken Cup was easier than playing in Super Rugby. Toulon winger Drew Mitchell responded, in jest, saying Toulon would prefer to play the Super Rugby champions - the Waratahs - but Boudjellal has since come and said they are open to playing the Sharks.

"I saw what they said about RCT and I find it a little inappropriate," Boudjellal said. "I've seen Jaws 1, 2 and 3 and sharks don't scare me. If they want play against champions, it's wherever and whenever they want.

"If they think it's easy to win the double, then why don't they send their team and we'll see. Bernard [Laporte] told me it's not problem if they want to come and deal the final blow, we're ready to welcome them."

Toulon are already hopeful of teeing up a match against the Waratahs at some stage.
