Tony Woodcock's international career is over after the veteran All Blacks prop picked up a hamstring injury in Friday's Rugby World Cup Pool C victory over Tonga.

The 34-year-old, who scored his 10th try for the All Blacks in the first half, limped off just minutes after the interval at St James' Park, with head coach Steve Hansen later admitting he was unsure over the extent of the injury.

The All Blacks have since confirmed on Twitter that the prop will be ruled out for three weeks.

That brings to an end Woodcock's 118-cap career, with the current Rugby World Cup scheduled to be his final tournament in the famous All Black jersey.

"It's obviously gutting and disappointing for Woody," Hansen said. "He has played his last Test. New Zealanders should be very proud of him."

Woodcock scored New Zealand's only try in the 2011 Rugby World Cup final as his side edged to an 8-7 victory over France. His place in the 2015 squad will be taken by 27-year-old Crusaders prop Joe Moody.
