Riaan Viljoen scored a last-minute try to steal victory for the Sharks over the Blues at Kings Park on Saturday, the fullback scoring wide on the right wing to settle a Super Rugby game the hosts had controlled for 40 minutes before the New Zealand visitors powered back to lead 20-17 with seconds remaining.

The Sharks dominated the set-piece and flanker Marcell Coetzee and scrum-half Charl McLeod scored early tries, but the Blues fought back hard.

Blues winger Frank Halai scored two tries while All Blacks star Rene Ranger scored off the bench as the Blues rubbed out an early 14-0 deficit at Kings Park before Viljoen went over from a late overlap.
