David Pocock has won the Growden Medal for Australia's best Test player for 2015. Pocock, who is also in contention for the 2015 Rugby World Cup Player of the Year award, had an exceptional season, being a standout in numerous Australian Test triumphs. His backrow combination with Michael Hooper and Scott Fardy was instrumental in Australia exceeding expectations and making the World Cup final.
Cheika: A painful game to lose
%]Pocock showed his versatility by transferring from the openside flanker spot to No. 8 midway during the season, enabling Wallabies coach Michael Cheika to use the Brumbies No. 7 and Hooper as a backrow tag-team. Not surprisingly Hooper was a close second in the award, while Adam Ashley-Cooper, one of Australia's most consistent performers in recent times, finished third.
