Lyon edged past 14-man Stade Francais 12-9 on Friday night at the Matmut Stadium after the league-leaders had their fly-half Morne Steyn dismissed after just 30 minutes.

Steyn, who slotted six points before the incident, was red carded for what appeared to be a kick on Lyon's Mosese Ratuvou. Ratuvou ended up playing a key role in the match as it was his two tries that guided Lyon to a surprise win over Stade.

Ratuvou's first came after 28 minutes when he profited from a good run from Argentinean back-row Juan Manuel Leguizamón to crash over in the corner and he got his second in the 50th minute when he went over in the corner thanks to slick hands from his Lyon team-mates. Jules Plisson slotted a penalty 10 minutes later to make the score 12-9 to Lyon but Stade were unable to pin them back.
