Jerry Collins' season could be over after the Ospreys back-row was cited for an alleged dangerous challenge during Saturday's Magners League clash with Munster.

The former All Black, a second-half replacement during the game at the Liberty Stadium, was sent to the sin bin for a high tackle Munster fullback Felix Jones with just over a minute of normal time remaining.

The visitors' punished Collins' indiscretion, earning a 22-20 victory thanks to a last-minute penalty from fly-half Ronan O'Gara to severely dent the Ospreys' hopes of a top-four finish.

Collins is now facing a possible ban after being summoned to appear before a disciplinary hearing, the date of which has yet to be confirmed.
