London Irish linked with World Cup-winning prop

London Irish boss Brian Smith has admitted he is looking into replacements for injured Tongan prop Halani Aulika and has been linked with CJ Van der Linde.

Van der Linde was part of the Springboks side that won the 2007 World Cup and has since amassed 75 caps for South Africa. With Aulika out until April with a foot injury, Smith will be looking to fill his sizeable void and while Van der Linde has been mentioned as a possible replacement, the Exiles boss would not be drawn on who is on his radar.

"With Halani having a significant injury we are clearly looking at players," Smith told getReading. "We are not in a position to say what we are doing just yet. It's premature to say anything because we are still having a good hard look."
