Patricio Noriega has signed a two-year contract to coach French Top 14 side Bayonne.

The former prop who played internationally for Argentina and Australia has been coaching in France for the past two seasons, with Racing Metro and then Stade Francais. He worked previously as the Wallabies' scrum coach, in which role under Robbie Deans he helped to improve the team's set-piece.

Noriega, 41, will be helped in the Basque country by former scrum-half Nicolas Morlaes, 35, who steps up from the club's youth teams.

Also joining the squad are Australian fly-half Blair Stewart from Grenoble, Georgian prop Giorgi Jgenti from Perpignan, and Lucas Pointud, another prop, from ProD2 club Tarbes.
