Munster play host to New Zealand for the eighth time this week in the hope of notching another famous win over the tourists.

The two sides first met in 1905 with the All Blacks recording a 33-0 win at Markets Field in Limerick and their latest encounter was in 1989 at Musgrave Park when New Zealand were victorious 31-9.

However the most famous clash between the two sides took place at Thomond Park on October 31, 1978 when the province scored a 12-0 victory. It was the first time an Irish side had beaten New Zealand and today, 30 years later, it remains the country's only success against the All Blacks.
