New Zealand will attempt to end a three-game losing streak against South Africa on Saturday and at the same time extend their own impressive record at Eden Park.

The Springboks enter the clash having won all three of their meetings last year including their Tri-Nations-clinching success in Hamilton. However, the defending champions must also re-write the record books if they are to make that four wins in-a-row having not won at Auckland's Eden Park stadium since a 17-6 victory in 1937. New Zealand are also unbeaten on the ground since a 23-20 reverse at the hands of France in 1994.

South Africa's hat-trick of victories over the All Blacks last season took their all-time stats to 33 victories, with New Zealand having claimed 42 and three Tests having ended in draws.

Of the eight matches they have contested at Eden Park since their first meeting at the ground in 1921, New Zealand have won five, South Africa two with one match drawn. Their most recent meeting at Eden Park was in 2001 where the hosts triumphed 26-15 thanks largely to the boot of fly-half Andrew Mehrtens.

The All Blacks' highest points tally against the Springboks also came on the ground with tries from Christian Cullen (2), Alana Ieremia, Justin Marshall, Taine Randell, Carlos Spencer and Tana Umaga propelling the team to a 55-35 win in 1997.
