Munster have announced the signing of South African prop BJ Botha from provincial rivals Ulster.

The World Cup-winning tight-head, 31, has signed a two-year contract with the two-time Heineken Cup champions and will make the move south at the end of the current campaign.

Botha has been capped 25 times by the Springboks, with his last appearance coming against Australia in July of last year. Unsurprisingly, Munster head coach Tony McGahan is thrilled that the club has been able to prise such a revered front row forward away from one of their provincial rivals.

"We are delighted that BJ Botha has opted to join Munster. He is a player of the highest calibre who we believe will add significantly to our squad," the Australian said.
