Marquardt cleared to return to action

Nate Marquardt is looking for a return to action after his suspension was lifted by the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission, although he is still axed from the UFC.
Marquardt was banned from the sport after posting a high testosterone level ahead of his fight with Rick Story last month. The fighter, who is currently 31-10-2 in his professional MMA career, pleaded his innocence, stating he failed the drugs test because he needed Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
The Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission lifted the suspension on Wednesday, freeing him for a return to action. Executive director Greg Sirb refused to go into details, merely stating to MMa Fighting that the fighter had "met all our medical requirements".
With the UFC refusing to grant Marquardt a reprieve, the 32-year-old is a free agent and according to Kelly Crigger, vice-president of communications for Alchemist Management, his company's client is "talking to everybody".
"He absolutely wants to fight again this year, for sure," Crigger said.
