British heavyweight De Fries joins the UFC

Briton Philip De Fries has announced on Facebook that he is the latest addition to the UFC's heavyweight division.

The undefeated 25-year-old is expected to make his debut at UFC 138, which will take place in Birmingham, England.

De Fries has competed solely in England during his two-year pro career, recording victories against former UFC fighter Colin Robinson and Stav Economou.

All of his seven wins have come via submission, with five by means of rear-naked choke. He will fight compatriot Oli Thompson.
