White slams media "hacks" for Jones v Evans reports

UFC president Dana White gave a verbal volley to MMA journalists on Wednesday evening, labelling them "hacks" for incorrectly reporting that Jon Jones will fight Rashad Evans at UFC 140.
Widespread reports claimed on Wednesday that Jones v Evans had been lined up for UFC 140 in December. Indeed, ESPN's sources also seemed to confirm the news, but the UFC's top man knew different.
Due to a hand injury for Evans, who has been told he must wait another three weeks before starting a training camp, it is now highly unlikely the pair will contest the UFC light-heavyweight title on December 10.
"Don't listen to these hack s*** websites!! Jones vs Evans is not true," tweeted White. "Just did a two-hour press conference at 11am and told all the media that Jones vs Evans would NOT happen @140. Then hacks say it is."
White also tweeted: "For the media guys who live on some other planet and didn't know Rashad Evans has pins in his thumb and is out for a while!!!!"
Wednesday's episode comes just a week after White himself was forced into a U-turn over a potential Lyoto Machida v Phil Davis bout, after forgetting Davis had a knee injury.
"I jumped the gun on Machida vs Davis. Just found out Davis is still recovering from knee surgery. Sorry about that!" White wrote on his Twitter page.
