Georges St-Pierre v Carlos Condit

Carlos Condit has promised to step inside the cage at UFC 137 as the most prepared challenge Georges St-Pierre has ever met, and at the end of the night he plans to leave with the welterweight title.

Like St-Pierre, Condit is a champion. He is the last reigning 170lb champion of the WEC, having won 12 of his last 13 fights.

The one loss came against Martin Kampmann on UFC debut, but since then Condit has taken out Jake Ellenberger, Dan Hardy, Rory MacDonald and Dong Hyun Kim.

At UFC 137 he takes on one of the most dominant champions in MMA history, with St-Pierre defeated just once in his last 16 bouts. As a fellow Greg Jackson student, Condit knows the size of the task facing him, but he is confident about shocking the world.

"Georges is tough to gameplan against, he's as dynamic and well-rounded as they come. He's a very tough puzzle to solve," Condit confessed.

"I want this, I've been training for this my entire life. Every wrestling match, every amateur boxing match that I've ever been in was in preparation for this upcoming fight.

"I'm the best I've ever been, I'm the most focused, the most motivated I've ever been in my entire career. I'm stepping in the cage and taking his belt."

Asked what makes Condit believe he can succeed where the likes of Jake Shields, Matt Hughes, BJ Penn, Jon Fitch and Dan Hardy have failed, the Natural Born Killer explained that nobody carries the cold-blooded mentality that he brings to the Octagon.

"I'm hard to fight. No matter what position we're in, I'm making you feel uncomfortable," Condit said. "I'll beat you up physically but also break you down mentally."
