Henderson gunning for Jones and Silva - White

Dan Henderson is gunning not only for the UFC light-heavyweight title, but also the middleweight championship according to president Dana White.

Henderson came out on top of a spellbinding battle with Mauricio Shogun Rua at UFC 139, taking a unanimous 48-47 decision after a fight that saw both men rocked on several occasions. White later counted the bout among the best three he has ever witnessed.

Victory puts Henderson in a strong bargaining position for the next shot at light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones, if Jones defeats Lyoto Machida in December. Hendo is yet to win UFC gold, and the 41-year-old confessed he is desperate to fight for the belt next.

"I definitely want the 205lb title," Henderson stated, before he later tweeted from hospital: "Shogun is one tough guy. Hope you all liked the show - I want a title shot next."

The question for White is which title? Jones has Machida next, and Rashad Evans is also waiting patiently in line. Middleweight king Anderson Silva has Chael Sonnen lined up, while the likes of Michael Bisping and Mark Munoz are pushing hard for their shots.

It could well be that an unforeseen injury, particularly if it was to Evans or Sonnen, hands Henderson his next shot, but White did not rule out the veteran launching an assault on both divisions.

"The guy is so talented, he can do both; he can fight in both weight classes," White boasted. "I'm sure with him, it would be a matter of which one he could get first.

"There's guys already lined up to fight for [both the 185 and 205lb titles] and whichever one is available first. You guys know, anything can happen."
