Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Wineland set to battle

The UFC's second appearance on Fox looks set to feature one of the most explosive athletes in MMA as Demetrious Johnson lines up to face Eddie Wineland.

Yet to be officially confirmed, Johnson and Wineland are said to have verbally agreed the bout by MMA Weekly.

For Johnson, the fight will be his first since a tough bantamweight title loss to Dominick Cruz. Johnson was beaten by decision, largely due to his lack of size compared to the champion.

Wineland is battling for his UFC future after starting out with consecutive losses to Urijah Faber and Joseph Benavidez. The former WEC champion does, though, hold wins over the likes of George Roop, Ken Stone and Manny Tapia.

UFC on Fox 2 will take place in January at Chicago's United Center.
