Jose Aldo v Chad Mendes

Jose Aldo has a simple message for Chad Mendes ahead of UFC 142, telling the American "you're not a striker, you'll get knocked out".

Aldo defends his featherweight title in his homeland of Brazil, knowing question marks surround his defensive wrestling capabilities. Mendes, a born wrestler, will pose all the necessary questions.

However, far from focusing on the negative, Aldo - who has trained with Gray Maynard for this fight - prefers to point out that the fight starts on the feet, where Mendes is far from comfortable.

"Mendes is a tough fighter, he's had some real tough fights. He's a great wrestler so I have to plan out a strategy and put it into practice," Aldo said.

"He's got a disadvantage on his feet, he's not a striker. So if he's got a disadvantage anywhere it's on his feet.

"I'm looking for a knockout or a submission. I'm coming off some great fights and I'm well prepared for this one. I feel confident I can go in there and knock him out or submit him."
