Hendricks and Koscheck to clash in May

Jonny Hendricks will return to the Octagon for the first time since a 12-second KO of Jon Fitch in December when he meets Josh Koscheck.

UFC president Dana White has announced that the welterweight bout will take place at UFC on Fox 3, which is being held on May 5 in New Jersey.

Koscheck is a close friend of Fitch - and has said he would rather retire than fight him - so now has the chance to avenge Fitch's defeat to Hendricks.

Koscheck, who has plans to move to middleweight at some stage, earned a split-decision triumph over Mike Pierce on February 4.

The contest between Koscheck and Hendricks is likely to serve as the evening's co-main event, alongside Nate Diaz v Jim Miller.
