Light-heavyweight contender Thiago Silva will take on Alexander Gustafsson in the UFC on Fuel 2 main event on April 14, after Gustafsson's original opponent Antonio Rogerio Nogueira was forced to withdraw.

Nogueira was forced to pull out of the bout in Sweden with Gustafsson after suffering a knee injury in training camp.

The bout will be the first in more than a year for Silva, who was suspended for one year by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after submitting a fake urine sample one day before his January 1, 2011, bout with Brandon Vera.

Silva defeated Vera by unanimous decision. The result of the fight, however, was later changed to a no contest because of Silva's failed prefight test.

He was originally scheduled to make his Octagon return on May 15 in a rematch with Vera. But an injury forced Vera to withdraw from the fight. Silva was then slated to face Igor Pokrajac on the May 15 card, but has now been switched to the top of UFC on Fuel 2.

Gustafsson, a resident of Stockholm, has a professional record of 13-1. He is currently riding a four-fight win streak.
