Tim Boetsch claims a fight with Britain's Michael Bisping is long overdue, and he has implored the UFC to set that up as his next bout.

Boetsch stunned Japan when he produced a superb comeback to defeat Yushin Okami at UFC 144. Having lost the first two rounds, he came out swinging in the third and dropped Okami with a series of brutal uppercuts.

That victory lifted Boetsch's record to 3-0 since dropping into the middleweight division, and he now wants a top contender. Chael Sonnen is occupied with Anderson Silva while Vitor Belfort is tied up in a TUF rivalry with Wanderlei Silva, so that leaves Boetsch looking at Bisping.

The pair both began their UFC careers in the light-heavyweight division, and Boetsch admits he has wanted to fight the Brit ever since he laid eyes on him at 205lbs.

"I feel like I'm hitting harder now than I was at light-heavyweight," Boetsch told Full Contact Fighter. "I think that maybe people had forgotten that I can stop people with my hands.

"I'd like to think my next fight will be against whoever's next in line to determine who will face the winner of the Anderson Silva v Chael Sonnen fight. Definitely I'd like to take on a top three fighter.

"Bisping's name has been on my agenda for a long time. Even back when we were at light-heavyweight he was someone I wanted to fight.

"I think he did a heck of a job against Chael and he's certainly up there as a contender… It will be interesting to see who they come with, and whoever they do, I'll be ready."
