Melvin Guillard, after back-to-back submission losses, has been given a stiff test upon his return to the Octagon, after it was announced he will fight Fabricio Camoes at UFC 148.

Guillard was knocking on the door of UFC lightweight title contention until he met Joe Lauzon, who choked him out inside a minute. Then Guillard looked on the cusp of beating Jim Miller, only to suffer a similar fate.

On July 7 he will face a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in Camoes, who is on a three-fight win streak. Camoes has only lost once in his last 12 bouts and holds seven submission victories to his name.

Also well schooled in the art of stand-up, Camoes once went 25 minutes with Anderson Silva, eventually losing via TKO.

UFC 148 takes place in Las Vegas and features Tito Ortiz v Forrest Griffin and Michael Bisping v Tim Boetsch.
