Martin Kampmann is fast becoming the UFC's 'comeback kid' after he recovered from two separate beatings to defeat Jake Ellenberger in the TUF Live Finale main event.

Kampmann, who pulled victory from the jaws of defeat in his last fight with Thiago Alves, was in even more trouble against Ellenberger, who looked like finishing in each of the first two rounds. However, a stiff right hand followed by a series of knees from the Thai plumb dropped Ellenberger, who was defeated at 1.40 of round two.

That welterweight scrap topped a card that crowned the new "Ultimate Fighter", after Michael Chiesa upset the odds once again to beat Al Iaquinta via first-round submission.

The result that will resonate most around the UFC community, though, was that of Kampmann, who is now likely to be heading for a top contender bout with Johny Hendricks.

Ellenberger, in some respects, has never looked so good yet he once again showed serious issues with his gas tank when chasing the finish. The Juggernaut looked likely to finish the fight inside 50 seconds when he dropped Kampmann with his first assault, a booming left hand that flattened his rival.

Moving in for the kill, Ellenberger landed a catalogue of follow-up shots but then seemed to tire, allowing Kampmann to recover as the rest of the opening stanza slipped away in a stalemate on the mat.

Batteries recharged, Ellenberger went again in round two, rocking the Dane with more heavy strikes, Kampmann's legs clearly buckling as he backed into the cage. However, once again the chase for the finish took its toll on Ellenberger, who began to shake out his fatigued arms.

Kampmann capitalised, clearly staggering Ellenberger with a short right hand, before smashing the American with three knees to the head. The last one dropped Ellenberger, who was out by the time he hit the mat.

The TUF Live final saw Michael Chiesa overcome favourite Al Iaquinta via first-round submission. Iaquinta looked to out-strike his rival but Chiesa used a clever trip to take his rival down and instantly take his back, where he locked in the rear-naked choke for victory.

The other notable result of the night saw Justin Lawrence rocked on more than one occasion by John Cofer before he landed a huge third-round head kick, earning him a share of the Knockout of the Night honours with Kampmann.
