Condit ready to fight Kampmann if GSP withdraws

Carlos Condit wants to fight Georges St-Pierre later this year, but if St-Pierre cannot make their anticipated November date, Condit will take another fight - potentially with Martin Kampmann.

Condit has been inactive since the start of February, when he beat Nick Diaz to become UFC interim welterweight champion. That spell on the sidelines is expected to last until November, when St-Pierre hopes to return to action following torn knee ligaments.

However, should the Canadian suffer another setback, Condit admits he will not continue to wait for his shot at the belt. Instead he will be open to other opponents, with Kampmann strongly in the running after his win over Jake Ellenberger.

Kampmann was the man who welcomed Condit to the UFC, defeating him in a breathtaking fight back in April 2009. And he says he would readily avenge that loss if he needs to fight.

"If it turns out Georges can't fight in November, most likely, I will fight somebody else," Condit told Inside MMA. "I really want to fight Georges. I really want to unify the belts, but there's also some other guys that I would like to fight as well.

"Martin Kampmann's the only guy that I've lost to in the UFC, the only guy I've lost to in about the last six years, so I would definitely like to avenge that loss."
